Characters

Titus:  Titus is the main character and narrator. He comes from an upper-middle-class family of this futuristic world, and happily embodies the stereotypical consumerist attitude. While on the moon, he faces the challenge of resisting the feed or giving into the societal pressures of media, consumerism, and corporate-control. Titus' family depicts society throughout this novel as they are shown to be obsessed with consumerist culture and status. He has a mother, father, and little brother.

Violet Durn: Violet represents the opposite of Titus in many aspects, as she is his girlfriend in this novel. She and Titus meet while on a spring-break trip to the moon, and Violet challenges him to resist the feed. Unlike Titus and the majority of society, Violet did not have a feed implanted until she was seven years old. Because of this she is at a greater risk for sever malfunction, and she is also very skeptical of the feed. Violet only has a father in this novel, who is illustrated as the opposite of Titus' family. He is an intelligent, educated skeptic of the feed and his viewpoints are illustrated through violet.

The two main characters are Titus and Violet, and it is their story that Feed follows the most closely. Other friends of Titus' that are relevant in this novel are Lincoln "Link" Arwaker, Calista, Loga, Marty, and Quendy.
